It's with grear sadness that we report the passing of Ken "Rocky" "Seagull" Allen. He was quite a character who wore the Pocomo jersey with great pride. For those who don't know Kenny, he was always willing to help out and make the club a better place. Below is the story of how he became "Seagull"
Ken got his name as a result of an accessory he had to his Sanitation Engineering Uniform that he wore to a POCOMO Halloween Club dance at Centennial Lodge in New Westminster. Ken, through his job, went to the dump every day. On the day of the dance he caught himself the Seagull to add to his "costume". When Ken got home he fed himself and the Seagull large amounts of Rum and bread. On arriving at the dance, there was Ken, resplendent in his costume with a box attached to his waist. He also was wearing heavy gloves. Naturally you ask, "What is in the box?" Ken says, "Do you really want to see???"... and reaches into the box and pulls out this Seagull. Do you know how F'n BIG those suckers are up close? And then he shoves him at you! This Seagull was plastered and bit anything that came within reach. And that Shit Hawk could bite hard!!! Later in the evening (succumbing to the "cries of alarm" from the women in attendance as to the Seagull's welfare and from a humanitarian point of view) Ken, buy now known as "Seagull," goes to the balcony of the Lodge and, to much fanfare, releases the Seagull by tossing him up into the air... only to have the Seagull drop straight to the ground like an anvil! You will never be forgotten Ken "Seagull" Allen!
