General Information:

United are currently running two adult men’s teams, one in the Okanagan Springs 1st Division and the other in the Okanagan Springs 2nd Division.  Both teams practice together and (generally) play one after the other at the same field.  Selection for the team is determined by a selection committee (including both the coaches and captains)

The teams range in age from 19 years old to mid 40’s.  Our players range from highly focused athletes to those that are playing for some fun and exercise.  Our team captains and coaches will provide you with the assistance that you need to ensure that you are playing at an appropriate level to both develop your skills and ensure that you have a positive experience.

Player Expectations:

Below is a list of things that we expect players to help out with to ensure that we can all have a positive rugby experience.

  1. Players are expected to attend all practices and be ready to start (not put their gear on) at the posted starting time.
  2. 2nd Division players are expected to arrive 45 minutes before kickoff.  1st Division players are expected to arrive at the start of the 2nd Division game.
  3.  If a player cannot make a game or practice, it is expected that they will contact the coach and explain their circumstances.
  4. After games, players are expected to show up to the clubhouse to socialize and meet the other team.  2nd Division players should be at the clubhouse within 10 minutes of the 1st Division game ending, 1st Division players should be at the clubhouse within 30 minutes of the 1st Division game ending.  Players that cannot attend the clubhouse after the game should contact the coach to explain their circumstances.
  5. Attendance at club functions and fundraisers.  Players are expected to attend all club functions and fundraisers.  These events are being held to help finance the cost of rugby and players should be there to assist with this.  These events also help develop a better club spirit and sense of camaraderie at the club; therefore, being a part of these events can only enhance this for all.
