COVID-19 UPDATE

March 18, 2021

Dear Members of the United Rugby Club

RE: Covid - 19

On March 15, 2021, the current Public Health Order (PHO) has been amended to permit phase 2 rugby programming for rugby players of all age with the following restrictions.

- All participants must maintain a physical distance of three metres from one another.

- Maximum 10 person cohorts / training groups.

- Participants can only travel to their home club.

- The focus is on activities that have a low risk of COVID-19 virus transmission (i.e. can maintain three metres physical distance)

There is a KEY difference in how sport can be delivered for youth (21yr and under) and Adult, (22 and older)

Youth sports are permitted to 50 people in attendance per venue. For Youth, this will consist of five cohorts of 10 people, to have no more than 50 people present at a venue.

Adult sport can only consist of ONE cohort of 10 people at a venue.

The United Rugby Club has reviewed the PHO order and has listened to all the advice from our provincial health officer including the benefits from outdoor physical activities.

At this time, the United Rugby Club has decided to resume on-field activities using BC Rugby Unions Phase 2 - Rugby Re-Engage rules.

Until the end of this season, all sessions will be held with a strict 3 metre rule in effect. There will be no breaches of the 3 m rule during this time. The only shared equipment at the field will be the rugby ball.

Please continue practicing best efforts in helping to flatten the curve including the wearing of a mask to and from the field and sanitizing your hands immediately upon arrival.

If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact your program director or email me at president@unitedrugby.ca. Thank you for your cooperation.

Yours truly,

United Rugby Club

Sean Dingley
