Registration Now Open for The 2025 Season

The United Mini Rugby program plays primarily in the Lower Mainland against other clubs with Mini programs. Players are girls and boys, Kindergarten to Grade 6 (ages 4-11), and are divided by BC Rugby's Age-Grade variations. All teams are planned to be co-ed, but this can change depending on the makeup of the zone teams.

The teams progress from flag rugby at U6/U8/U10 to full contact for U12, with contact being safely introduced at Grade 5 by skilled coaches. Beyond Grade 6, players are eligible to play in our Junior program. Regardless of player age, all mini rugby games are played at the same location each week, making it easy to manage if you have multiple kids in the program. Our club plays September to December and again February/March to May.

SEASON

United Rugby’s Mini season is from September to May, with a break over the winter.

Games: Sunday's from 10:00-11:30 AM at various locations around the Lower Mainland.

Please arrive at the appointed field on game day at 9:30 AM ready to warm up.

TRAINING

Wednesday evenings 6:00-7:00 pm at Maple Creek Middle School (3770 Hastings Street, Coquitlam).

NOTE: On 'no game' days - training will be held on Sunday mornings between 10:00-11:00 AM at Maple Creek if we don't have a game scheduled.

EQUIPMENT

All players will be required to wear cleats (soccer cleats are acceptable) and a mouth guard to practices and games.

United Uniform (subsidies are available - see Player Funding for information)

Players will need to purchase shorts and socks from from the mini director at the practice field.
A jersey is provided with the dues.
Mouth guards are available for $2.

Soccer cleats are fine, no need to purchase rugby specific cleats. United has a selection of clean, previously owned cleats if you'd like to trade in an old pair for new ones at no cost
